Landscape Vouchers and Water Rebates

We still have landscape vouchers available at the Town Hall. We purchased 20 $100 gift certificates in early March and still have several available. We will not be purchasing more if we run out, so be sure to get your application in soon. Happy Life Gardens is open for business, and our guess is that it’s safe to plant. Find the application here.

Also, we’ve all worked so hard to keep Garden City green, let’s not stop now. The water rebate program is still available for this year. Be sure to get your application in before the end of May.

Census and our Zip Code

It is time for Census 2020, as if we had nothing else to think about! It’s important that we respond, especially now. However, the Census has sent their mailings to Garden City residents with the city listed as Greeley. It takes a few extra steps to change your response to Garden City, but it can be done.

Because of that and many other reasons, we are attempting to get our own zip code for Garden City. If this goes through, you’ll have to take time to change your address in many places, but the results will be worth it. You can be sure that when you purchase something out of town for delivery at home, including large purchases such as appliances and vehicles, you will be paying our lower sales tax rate and the sales tax will come to our town, not Greeley. We will send out a notice if our request is successful.

Landscape Vouchers Available

2020 Landscape Vouchers are available. You can mail the attached form or leave it in our mailbox, and we’ll mail the voucher to you. Be sure to include a phone number in case we have questions. The voucher is available to both residents and businesses. If you are unable to print at home, give us a call and we’ll mail one to you. 970-351-0041.

Town Playground Is Closed

Update – as of March 25th at 4:00 p.m., the playground is closed until further notice. Please stay home and stay healthy. If you go outside to get some exercise and fresh air, remember to distance yourself from others that do not live in your household. Wash your hands often.

Weld County has the fourth highest number of reported COVID-19 cases in the State. Our Town needs to do our part in keeping that number down. We realize it’s a difficult time for everyone, so rather than shut the playground down completely, we are instituting a limit of one family per day, Garden City families only. The family can use the park until 4:00 p.m., at which time the park will be shut down for cleaning. Call the Town Hall at 970-351-0041 to reserve the park or email abby@townofgardencity.com. If you email or leave a message on voice mail, be sure to give us your name, address and phone number so we can confirm your reservation. This is beginning today, March 25, 2020.

If you take a book from the Little Library, be sure to clean the book and your hands. Keep the book. We will restock the library in early May.
